Discover the Best Skin Rejuvenation Option for Your Goals at SunCoast Skin CoolumÂ
we understand - skin rejuvenation can feel overwhelming.
With so many options available—like BBL, RF needling, microneedling, skin peels, and cosmetic injectables—starting your skin rejuvenation journey can feel confusing. That’s exactly where we come in.
At SunCoast Skin, we provide clear, personalised, and evidence-informed advice tailored to your unique skin goals. Whether you’re looking to address pigmentation, improve texture, soften fine lines, or simply restore a natural, healthy glow, our experienced team is here to guide you with care.
Sometimes, it’s not about dramatic change—it’s about feeling more confident in your skin while still looking like yourself. Many factors outside your control—such as certain skin conditions, hormonal changes, pregnancy, medications, or treatments like chemotherapy—can affect your skin’s tone and texture over time. And in today’s busy world, lack of time is often a real barrier. That’s why we work with your schedule, designing a skin rejuvenation plan that fits your lifestyle and timeline.
Our doctors and senior dermal therapists bring over 60 years of combined experience in skin rejuvenation, skin health, and patient-centred care. Together, we’ll create a plan that feels right for you—free from pressure, built on trust, and tailored with your wellbeing in mind.
Tone
Uneven skin tone is one of the most common concerns we treat — whether it’s redness from rosacea, stubborn freckles, or pigmentation after acne. BroadBand Light (BBL) is one of our most effective tools for addressing both red (vascular) and brown (pigmented) changes in the skin.
BBL is used to treat:
Rosacea and facial flushing
Superficial pigmentation, like sun freckles and age spots
Post-inflammatory erythema (PIE) from acne scarring
Epidermal melasma, when carefully selected
Poikiloderma, or redness around the decollatage from sun damage.
For dermal melasma or deeper pigment, we often recommend a preparatory phase with medical-grade peels, topical agents, or skin barrier strengthening before introducing light-based treatments.
Because skin response can vary, we always assess your Fitzpatrick skin type during consultation. This helps us safely customise BBL settings — especially for deeper or more reactive skin tones — ensuring effective results with minimal discomfort.
TEXTURE
Skin texture refers to how your skin feels to the touch—whether it is smooth, rough, or uneven. In some cases, improving skin texture may involve more intensive resurfacing options. At SunCoast Skin, we offer a range of ablative laser treatments, tailored to your individual needs and guided by medical assessment:
NanoLaserPeel (NLP): Targets the very top layers of the skin (down to 10nm) and is often used for superficial resurfacing, including on the face, neck, décolletage, or other areas with dry skin.
MicroLaserPeel (MLP): Designed for deeper resurfacing (down to 40nm) and typically used with a topical anaesthetic or regional block.
ProFractional Laser: A much deeper treatment (down to 350nm to 500nm) generally used for small, specific areas such as around the eyes or mouth, acne scars, and is usually performed under local or regional anaesthesia.
Each treatment varies in depth and downtime, with recovery times for MLP and ProFractional laser sometimes extending up to two weeks. A thorough consultation with one of our doctors is recommended to determine if any of these options may be appropriate for you.
tone & texture
For individuals with both pigmentation and texture-related skin concerns, a combination approach using the HALO® laser with BBL (BroadBand Light) may be considered. The HALO laser, developed by Sciton, includes both ablative and non-ablative wavelengths. The ablative component targets the upper layers of the skin (approximately 1470 nm), while the non-ablative wavelength is designed to heat deeper layers (around 2970 nm).
When combined with BBL, this treatment approach may address uneven skin tone and textural irregularities. It is often considered for those seeking more intensive skin rejuvenation options, and may be suitable for areas such as the face, neck, and décolletage.
A topical anaesthetic is typically used during the procedure, and recovery can take approximately 5 to 7 days. As with all procedures, a detailed consultation with a qualified medical practitioner is essential to assess suitability and discuss potential risks, benefits, and alternatives.
volume loss
Volume changes in the lower face and neck, such as mild to moderate laxity or the appearance of jowling, can be a common concern with age. One non-surgical option that may be considered is radiofrequency (RF) needling.
This treatment is typically performed under local anaesthetic and involves the use of fine, gold-plated needles that deliver controlled radiofrequency energy into the deeper layers of the skin. It is designed to stimulate collagen production in targeted areas, such as the lower face and jawline.
RF needling is sometimes chosen by individuals who are exploring non-surgical approaches before considering options such as surgical lifting. A typical treatment plan may involve a series of three sessions, spaced several months apart. RF Needling is performed under a topicals anaesthetic or a regional block.
Recovery time is usually around 7 days, and patients may experience a sensation similar to bruising or see temporary crusting at the treatment sites.
Skin Microneedling in a form of Needling without the radiofrequency (RF) component. This procedure is suitable for those as a maintanence after more invasive advanced skin rejuvenation treatment, or for younger skin looking to treat very mild lines and acne scarring.
A consultation with one of our doctors is essential to determine whether this treatment is appropriate for your individual needs and to fully discuss potential risks and outcomes.
