At SunCoast Skin Coolum, our specialist GPs are extensively trained in skin cancer medicine and advanced surgical techniques, allowing us to manage over 98% of diagnosed skin cancers on-site. As a doctor-led clinic, we provide evidence-based care in a safe, supportive environment.

Our services include diagnostic biopsies, simple excisions, and complex procedures such as skin flaps and grafts, performed with precision in our fully equipped surgical suite. All specimens are sent for pathology analysis, and procedures are done under local anaesthetic as day surgeries.

We also partner with local Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons, General Surgeons and Oncologists to ensure the best outcome for you.

A consultation is required before any procedure to assess suitability and discuss personalised treatment options. No referral is necessary, though referrals are welcome.

At SunCoast Skin, we combine advanced surgical care with a warm, patient-focused approach, supporting you from diagnosis through to recovery.

About the Procedures

All surgical procedures at SunCoast Skin are performed in our dedicated, fully equipped surgical suite under local anaesthetic and are carried out as day procedures. We recommend arranging for someone to drive you to and from your appointment, particularly if you are undergoing a longer or more complex surgery.

For larger procedures, especially those involving the limbs or joints, we advise a short period of rest post-operatively to support proper healing. If needed, you will be discharged with additional analgesia and detailed aftercare instructions.

Patients undergoing more complex surgeries are followed closely throughout their recovery. This includes regular follow-up appointments to monitor healing and manage any concerns. Sutures are typically removed within 7 to 14 days, depending on the procedure and location. For larger wounds or grafts, we also provide in-clinic dressing changes and wound care to ensure optimal
