Dr Cheryl Choong is the Founder and Medical Director of SunCoast Skin and a Specialist General Practitioner with a particular interest in skin cancer medicine, skin health and advanced skin rejuvenation.
She holds a Master of Medicine in Skin Cancer from the University of Queensland and has undertaken additional education and professional development in dermatology, skin health and laser medicine throughout her clinical career.
Dr Cheryl is a Senior Lecturer with the University of Queensland, contributing to postgraduate medical education in skin cancer medicine. She is also part of the multidisciplinary team at Noosa Cancer Care, contributing to collaborative discussion of complex skin cancer care.
Her clinical practice has a strong focus on comprehensive skin cancer assessment, dermoscopy, skin cancer surgery and ongoing surveillance, alongside the assessment and management of common skin concerns including acne, rosacea, pigmentation and sun-damaged skin.
Dr Cheryl also has a particular interest in doctor-led skin rejuvenation and laser medicine. She holds a Queensland Health medical laser licence and works closely with SunCoast Skin’s nursing and dermal team to develop individualised treatment plans based on each patient’s skin, medical history and treatment goals.
Her approach is considered and evidence-based, with an emphasis on careful assessment, patient safety and long-term skin health.
